180 Strand: Uncovered
The streets of London Fashion Week Men’s SS19 have been talking. And not just any old chit chat, but the 3am kind. It got a little deep outside the store studios on the 10thof June as we talked, style. Where it comes from, inspiration, insecurities, childhood, and parents even. The goal was to uncover the effects of your personality, the influence of others and the environment on your personal style.

I’m from Copenhagen. It’s all about bold colours, there’s inspiration from that but also street style too. When I dress, and people see me, they get a taste of who I am. Most typical guys don’t dress like this. I don’t like sports, but I’ve always loved fashion ever since I was 7 years old. It’s a hobby, a form of creativity. Fashion week is like going to see a tennis match. I dress like this as a protest to all stereotypes.

I think it comes from my personality I am very outgoing, wild, I love to explore and play. I don’t follow the rules I create my own. I feel more strong when I dress more bold!

I guess I’ve always worn dark colours, my mum has always worn dark colours. When I was younger she dressed me in black.
I’m usually more subdued. Put together, solid colours, pretty neutral.

Before I always would experiment, but I know what’s kind of me now. Clothes are bit of both, they empower you in a way that you can mask your insecurities. I don’t like certain things because I don’t like certain body parts of mine. But when I wear shouting colours I feel safe. It protects you in a way.
Mine blossomed when I started studying fashion photography. University exposed me to different styles, growing and understanding more of myself.

I’m quite reserved, but I feel as though fashion helps me speak. It voices who I am. My style comes from skateboarding, I was skating when I was 12 just at southbank. They were all really fashionable for me. I was mind blown.

I studied graphic design at college, I do my own thing. My style is heavy based on my mood, but most of my outfits come from not giving a fuck. Are clothes shelter or armour? Erh shelter, they keep me warm.
